Want to be more active? Join BCBSRI’s Step Up Challenge!
We all know exercise is great. It helps us feel good, sleep better, and be more relaxed. It can help protect us from heart disease, diabetes, depression, osteoporosis, and certain cancers. But sometimes we need a little extra motivation to keep us moving—like a friendly competition.
In the Step Up Challenge, you’ll team up with a local senior center or Your Blue StoreSM to track your steps and physical activity. Three Rhode Island senior centers—one in each region of the state—with the highest average steps over four weeks will receive $2,500 from BCBSRI. Senior centers will use that money to invest in health and wellness activities for you and other members. The Your Blue Store location with the highest average activity will get a celebration to honor the top participants.
July 1 to August 12
Your local participating senior center or Your Blue Store
You must be a member of a participating senior center to sign up as a member of their team. Any BCBSRI member who doesn’t belong to a senior center can sign up at a Your Blue Store location. Your senior center may offer special Step Up Challenge classes. View the schedule of classes to see if your center participates.
